I am a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist with more than 20 years’ experience working in the human services field and with people of all abilities. My goal is to offer a supportive environment where clients can feel safe, heard, and understood. I aim to create a partnership--together we can untangle and sort through feelings of stress and overwhelm, low self-esteem, as well as symptoms of depression, anxiety, and ADHD. My approach includes identifying symptoms particular to your experience, recognizing patterns that are contributing to feelings of being "stuck,” strengthening communication skills and boundary setting, and developing coping strategies.
Regardless of age, I aim to meet people where they are in their journey toward healing and emotional wellness. I often use a combination of therapeutic approaches and encourage the use of creative processes in our work together (when people are ready!). Due to my background as a Behavior Specialist, I have many years of experience helping clients identify personal goals and formulating plans to achieve them. I can place emphasis on behavioral interventions- including principles such as motivation/reinforcement, developing schedules/routines, and strengthening self-control via artmaking. I can also offer parenting support.
Along with art-making a few of my favorite things are spending time outdoors, reading, live music, and being with family and friends.
