Lorie White, LCAT
Pronouns: She/They
I believe therapy begins with the relationship. Before techniques, before strategies, before change—there is the experience of being seen, heard, and met exactly where you are. From that place, meaningful work can unfold.
My approach is not one-size-fits-all. I draw from a range of modalities—including CBT, DBT, narrative, solution-focused, and somatic experiencing—depending on the needs, identities, and lived experiences of the person sitting in front of me. I work with children, teens, and adults, and support individuals navigating depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, and the complexities of neurodivergence in a world that can often pressure conformity. Together, we make space for authenticity—honoring differences, embracing what may feel “out of step,” and recognizing these as meaningful parts of who you are, not something to be fixed. My work is grounded in anti-oppression frameworks, grief work, trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and an understanding of generational trauma.
I am deeply committed to therapy as a space rooted in social justice—one that is accessible and affirming for all bodies, identities, and abilities. This includes recognizing the limitations of traditional models and honoring multiple ways of knowing, acknowledging systemic harm, and understanding healing within the broader context of lived experience. Together, we create a space that is collaborative, curious, and responsive—where your story is not pathologized, but understood in its full context.
