Magical Mishaps: A Mixed Media Journaling Experience

Not all magic is tidy—and neither is journaling! Join us in the NOTA neighborhood for a playful, hands-on workshop where creativity meets a dash of chaos. We’ll dive into mixed media junk journaling with a witchy twist, building pages that look like they belong in an old spellbook (torn edges, ink smudges, mysterious labels, and all)..

Using paper, fabric, stamps, glue, and an array of whimsical materials, you’ll craft a journal that’s full of character and imagination. Write spells, document real life, or simply let yourself play—there’s no right or wrong way to do it.

This is a judgment-free zone. No art skills? No journaling experience? No neat handwriting? Perfect. Bring your curiosity and let your pages become a space for discovery, creativity, and a sprinkle of magical chaos.

What to Bring:

• A journal or notebook that feels special to you (blank, old, or in-progress—all welcome!)
• Personal items to include: photos, notes, ticket stubs, pressed flowers, receipts, doodles, anything that tells your story

We’ll Provide:

• A table full of supplies: paper, glue, scissors, stamps, washi tape, thread, and more
• Unusual and enchanting materials for layering and creating texture
• Light spooky snacks and drinks to keep the magic flowing

This workshop is about embracing the mess, the mystery, and the joy of creating something uniquely yours. Expect laughter, inspiration, and maybe even a spell or two.

You’ll head home with inky fingers, a one-of-a-kind journal, and plenty of ideas to keep the magic going.
